The members of the scientific and technological world got a rendez-vous to Kinshasa from 20 to April 25 for the organization of 6th edition of the Week of science and technologies (SST 6). The official ceremony of launching of its work was organized Saturday April 20 at space Texaf Bilembo, in the township of Gombe. It was chaired by temporary minister in charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Emery Okunji.

Organized by the ministry in charge of education in partnership with the Non-profit-making association Investing in people (IIP Asbl), the 6th edition of the Week of science and technologies welcomes several personalities of the scientific and technological world of the democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and elsewhere.

The topic selected is "the old and the new world". The SST6 lies within the scope of the commemoration of the month of science and technologies. The topic retained for this 6th edition is justified in way of "perspective of 4th industrial revolution characterized by innovations which can cause division and dehumanizing, how the DRC will have to be oriented compared to its education system and its models of development, so that these innovations are liberators for the country like for the continent?

Facing this deal, the organizers think that 6th edition of the SST is the favourable occasion to inform itself on technologies of 4th industrial revolution like artificial intelligence and the blockchain, opportunities and the threats which they represent.

The public invited to take part in this work is thus invited to think on the way to master this technological revolution in the context of DRC. In his word of circumstance, the temporary minister in charge of Teaching Primary and Secondary Education, Emery Okunji had the right words to greet the bravery and the dynamism of the organizing committee of the SST which, according to the minister, is given to make profit the country from the advantages of the 4th industrial revolution. For the minister, 4th industrial revolution causes the considerable possibilities for the blossoming of the democratic Republic of Congo.

At the first day, the ambassadress of Next Einstein forum for the DRC, Raissa Malu chaired the first conference on "an introduction to the 4th industrial revolution, the old one and the new world". As for Sam Yala, representative of AI MS center of Rwanda, he spoke to the audience about "Which strategies to position Africa in the heart of 4th industrial revolution. The example of AIMS-NEI ».

In margin of 6th edition of the SST, a base of the data of the women of DRC sciences is being made up. The official presentation of this data base was organized on Saturday April 20 in Kinshasa, during one evening of official reception organized for this purpose, at Sultani hotel, in the township of Gombe.

It is also planned several forums of discussion as well as exposures. The Boboto college, the Institute of Gombe as of other centers are retained like sites having to welcome various work of 6th edition of the Week of science and of technologies. Some days rather, a motorized caravan was organized to commemorate the month of science and technologies. The caravan furrowed the four Proved of Kinshasa, with the meeting of the recipients of the Project of education for the quality and the relevance of the lesson on the Secondary and Academic levels (PEQPESU)- These recipients are not other than the pupils of the secondary schools, of the technical training schools and professional.

The Steering Committee of the month of science and technologies also planes caravans of sciences in 5 targeted cities. In particular Goma (Nord-Kivu), Lubumbashi (Haut-Katanga), Kisangani (Tshopo), Kikwit (Kwilu) and Tshikapa (Kasaï)- It is also planned conferences through various cities of the country, exposure and others. Since 2014, each year, the ministry in charge of Primary, Secondary and Professional Education and the ministry for scientific research and technology with the non-profit-making association Investing in people (IIP Asbl) organize the week of science and technologies (SST).

An event created with an aim of developing near the young people and of general public, a scientific and technological culture, of promoting knowledge and know-how in these fields and of causing vocations there.
