With the slogan, "girls and boys, become ambassadors for the promotion of freedom of expression for all individuals, particularly girls and women", the day of awareness of students at Boboto College in the township of Gombe lived on March 7, 2019 in Kinshasa.

The professionals, members of Ucofem have sensitized the students of Boboto College on the concepts of freedom of expression which is a right for all the same for women. Ucofem was able to seize the occasion for the celebration of Women's Day in order to sensitize particularly boys and girls who must enjoy their freedom of expression. The objective of this activity was to improve the situation of the rights of women and girls in the DRC.

It also taught students the rights of women, especially the right to freedom of expression for women and girls. Inculcate to young students the importance of the right to freedom of expression for all, including the woman leaving the family, to reach workplaces.

Enable students to access available information and tools on freedom of expression and to engage young boys for the promotion of human rights including the rights of women and girls. For Ms. Elsa Indombe, one of the panelists at this event, the focus was on freedom of expression.
At the level of the family, boys need to understand that they must also give girls the chance to be effective in terms of freedom of expression. Girls and boys are born equal and they must enjoy freedom of expression.

Indeed, the constitution of the DRC in its Article 14 states "the public authorities shall ensure the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women and ensure the protection and promotion of their rights. They take in all fields, especially in the civil, political, economic, social and cultural fields, all appropriate measures to ensure the full development and full participation of women in the development of the nation. The woman has the right to equitable representation in national, provincial and local institutions. The State guarantees the implementation of gender parity in these institutions.

Unfortunately the situation on the ground remains the same in all the field of the media. The right to freedom of expression is guaranteed by the Constitution in Article 23. "Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right includes the freedom to express one's opinions or conviction, including speech, writing and image, subject to compliance with the law. This is the very meaning of Ucofem's sensitization day in March, dedicated to the rights of women and girls to reach students, particularly boys, as part of the Move4Women movement.
