The President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo accompanied by his wife, made a visit of comfort to Antoine Gizenga’s family, president of the United Lumumbist Party (PALU), died Sunday of illness in Kinshasa.


The presidential couple was welcomed at the family residence in Mont-fleuri district, in the township of Ngaliema, by Gizenga’s children, namely Ms. Dorothée Gizenga, eldest daughter, Lugi Gizenga, permanent secretary of PALU and Kogi Gizenga , the youngest.

The presidential couple then visited the office of the disappeared illustrious, under the explanations of Mr. Serge Lukoki, private secretary of the late Antoine Gizenga. In the PALU's condolence booklet, the Head of State wrote: "I greet the memory of this great baobab that was Patriarch Antoine Gizenga Funji. His life, his works and his battles will be for us an inspiration that will allow us to continue the fight for a strong and sovereign Congo, free and prosperous. That his soul rests in peace ".

Following the presidential couple, it was noted the presence of both civilian and military personalities who welcomed him at the international airport of N'djili, among which, his chief of staff, Vital Kamerhe, the General Chief of State of FARDC, Lieutenant General, Célestin Mbala Munsense, some general officers of the FARDC and the PNC and the Governor of the city of Kinshasa, André Kimbuta Yango.
