The finalist students from various public and private high schools in Mbuji-Mayi City organized last week protest demonstrations against the exorbitant cost of participating in the State Exam, which was set at 100,000 FC this year and 60,000 FC for the previous edition. Some protesters contacted by the ACP in front of the main provincial inspection office of the EPSP, lamented that this amount should be paid at the same time as the one-time intervention costs to be included on the list of regular candidates.

EPSP / Kasaï Oriental Provincial Inspector Paul Paku Ditu Banza asked the students to calm down while waiting for the solution that will come out of negotiations between the provincial authority and the partners in this sector. The educational province of Kasaï Oriental has been disrupted following a nearly two-month strike by teachers demanding the remaining payment of 25,000 FC on the salary increase of September 2017.
